Hi Room 115! I hope you had a wonderful week, we certainly did! It has been so much fun getting to know each of your students and begin learning with them! This week we learned all about Braeside and our schools expectations. We created our own classroom rules and how to be a bucketfiller. A bucketfiller is someone who is kind, thoughtful and a good friend. They help make other people and themselves feel good instead of being a bucket dipper. A bucket dipper is someone who takes away those positive feelings and does not use kind words. This was our focus this week as we build our classroom community. We also have been sharing our family pictures and talking about the people who support us and help to build the community we are apart of. In our classroom community we explored what we have in it and became familiar with our of our classroom tools. We played with play doh, built with legos and mat man. We also had our first P.E class, music and art class. Mrs. Pressman, the art teacher, would like to share that if you want to send your student with an art smock to keep at school to protect their clothes from getting messy to please send one in! This week we also began practicing counting and writing our numbers to 10, learned some new math games and practiced writing our names. Some Reminders: 1. The Braeside Baseh is today from 2-4pm. It is on the blacktop at Braeside and I hope to see you there! 2. Open House is this Wednesday (the 28th) from 6:00 - 7:30 pm 3. We have early release this Friday at 1:40pm 4. If you have not sent in a family photo yet please send one in so that it can be shared with the class. These pictures will stay in class all year and be something that we reference as we build our classroom community and family and relate it back to your families and our greater community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Hi Room 115 Families!!
Welcome to Kindergarten! It was a pleasure meeting so many of you yesterday! I am so excited for the school year to begin and to spend the year learning with your students! To prepare for Monday, please make sure your student brings a healthy snack, lunch and a water bottle. Monday is also a short day and school ends at 1:40 pm. If you are picking up your student we dismiss from door A5. If you are looking at the front of the school it is on the right side in the courtyard. If your student is taking the bus, we have a teacher who will help assist our kindergarten students go to and from the bus. Tuesday we will begin our normal schedule and school times. I also wanted to let you know our class has art on Tuesdays. If you would like to send your student with a smock (please make sure it is labeled in a plastic bag) to keep their clothes clean, we have space to keep them in class. Finally, please make sure to have the transportation slip from the welcome letter or if you made one yesterday at school in your students backpack. I have attached a copy of it to this email in case you need to make a new one. This will help make sure that your student and myself know how they will be getting home after school.
