Hi Room 115 Families!
I hope that you had a wonderful long weekend! We are having a great day getting back into the swing of things! We are now moving on to the last part of our shape unit, creating our own shape city! Students are taking their knowledge of shapes and buildings and designing their very own shape city. Continue to talk about shapes with your students where they can make connections and the different attributes about them! In literacy, we are spending a lot of time this week looking at sight words and finding them in the different texts we are reading. We are also continuing on looking at different vowel blends and how they sound in words. For science and social studies we are going to start thinking about how scientists come up with questions about what is around them or what they would like to know more about and how to do that research. Important Information 1. Conference sign ups went out today! Please be on the lookout for it and I look forward to seeing you and checking in on all the growth that has occurred since fall! 2. Next Friday, the 28th, is early release 3. March 2 there is no school because of Pulaski day 4. Our spring sing is fast approaching! We will have it on March 11 5. We also have an author visit coming up in March as well! Please be on the lookout for a pink sheet coming home to tell you more information! 6. From Mr. Buti and Mrs. Many: Tomorrow is another Olympics day, students are encouraged to where their country color again if they would like! As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out!

Hello Room 115 Families!
I hope that you have been having a wonderful week! We've had a busy week helping collect and count the soup cans for the Souper Bowl. We have worked on looking at blueprints and connecting shapes to everyday buildings. In literacy, we are continuing to write letters, reading groups and letter blends. We have many exciting things coming up that you can learn about below! I am very excited for this week and the Global Day of Play. I also wanted to thank all of you who brought in soup to help support our Souper bowl. Our class brought in just over 650 cans!! Thank you truly for bringing in soup to support the Moraine Township! Valentine's Day As a reminder, we do not have school on February 14th because it is an institute day. With that being said, we will be celebrating Valentine's day on the Thursday the13th! Students will be allowed to bring in Valentine's to share with the class. You will find a copy of our class list in your students folder along with the bottom of this email. Please remember that if your student decides to share Valentine's with the class that they have one for each student in our class; there are 22 students in our class! Global Day of Play Wednesday, February 5, is Global School Play Day. Kindergarten will be participating! On this day, your child may bring anything s/he wishes to play with to school. Please send your child with any game/toy that does not require batteries or electricity. Keep in mind this game/toy will be used and shared at school.
